In this paper, we discuss a new technique for measuring transceiver noise, skew, and the detection of uncompensated impairments. The method introduces frequency domain notch or notches at transmitter, which allows estimation Signal-to-Noise Distortion Ratio different stages over transmission chain. proposed requires signal spectrum using either: modem receiver, an Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA), oscilloscope, Electrical (ESA), depending on stage where is measured requiring minimal processing received signal. Our analysis focused Ciena's WaveLogic Ai commercial 95 Gbaud DAC. We demonstrate that symmetrically placed can be used to mitigate influence crosstalk estimates.
